Organic Modeling : Characters and Environments Closed for Applications.
The Organic Modeling Apprentice for the Jedi Masters Program works with the Lucasfilm Singapore Training team to further their abilities as 3D modelers contributing to the creation of characters, sets and props for feature animation with the intention of working on production models once training is completed.
Basic Skills:
Create high-resolution 3D geometry using Maya and ZBrush based on concept art and technical requirements for a given project.
Basic understanding of human anatomy and human body mechanics.
Demonstrate the development of an artistic eye.
Demonstrate technical expertise, artistic ability, and a basic understanding of animation.
Work with competency, energy and enthusiasm within a team environment.
Demonstrate good listening and communication skills by openly receiving direction and criticism.
Ability to ask good questions to confirm a clear understanding of the direction and the approach to the work.
Demonstrate presentation/communication skills in daily review by clearly and briefly outlining what has been accomplished.
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time well.
Education and Experience:
Show-reel or portfolio demonstrating strong 3D modeling skills including knowledge of scale, proportion, anatomy and the ability to create efficient surface topology. Portfolios should include at least one realistic model of a human. Examples of sculpting and drawing are a plus.
Experience with high-end 3D software packages such as Maya, XSI, Modo or 3D Studio Max, and digital sculpting software such as ZBrush or Mudbox is desirable.
Familiar with CG fundamentals and terminology is preferred.
